The Machine Tool Section’s member companies supply NC and conventional machine tools. The value of the machine tool trade in 2008 was (€) 180 million.
The most important customer groups are works, metal product and the transportation equipment industries as well as the contractors supplying these industries with services. In addition, machine tools are supplied to vocational schools, adult education centers and related colleges. Users of machine tools also include different types of maintenance units and repair shops in other industries and public administration.
The Machine Tool Section comprises 22 leading Finnish machine tool suppliers, whose products range from chipping and molding machine tools with relevant services to measuring machines. The products represented by the section’s members can be found in the machine tool agent list.
The section develops the operational conditions of the industry and provides statistics, trusteeship, and information services, which intensify the operations of the industry. The section’s member companies were impressively on display at the metal and works industries’ Fintec fair from 15-18 April 2008.
The Machine Tool section is a member of the industry’s European umbrella organization CELIMO (Comité Européen de Liaison des Importateurs de Machines-Outils).
