The Woodworking Machinery section consists of the most significant importers of the industry, who supply woodworking machines and related tools to the wood industry, professionals, hobbyists as well as the public sector.
The main product groups are lathes, planes, milling cutters, end spindle moulders, drilling machines, combined machines, circular saws, band saws, edge banders, veneer splicers, finger joining machinery, clamps, glue spreaders, coating machines, sanders, painting machines, dryers, saw doctoring machinery, water-jet and laser cutting machinery. Used machines are also traded within the industry.
The section observes the changes in the business environment, especially at the customer level as well as in legislation and municipality practices (market supervision). The section develops business tools by using polls, reports and supply conditions.
The woodworking machinery trade is worth approximately 35-40 (€) million annually. The most significant fair event of the industry in Finland is the Woodworking Exhibition, which is organized by the section every two years in cooperation with Lahti Fair Ltd.
