Motorcycles and Off-road Vehicles

The Motorcycles and Off-road Vehicles section brings together the key importers and manufacturers of motorcycles, mopeds, snowmobiles, all-terrain vehicles, and related services in Finland. The section strengthens the competitiveness, visibility, and operating conditions of a diverse vehicle industry that serves both consumers and professional users.

Member companies cover the majority of motorcycle and moped imports in Finland and play a central role in the off-road vehicle market. Products support both leisure use and demanding professional tasks. Snowmobiles and other off-road vehicles support the daily work of authorities such as the police, rescue services, fire departments, and border guards, while also helping landowners maintain urban and rural properties.

The section actively monitors changes in the business environment that affect a consumer-driven and partly seasonal market. Core themes include road and operational safety, licensing, taxation, vehicle registration processes, technical requirements, and market surveillance. Competition neutrality and responsible market practices guide the work across both motorcycles and off-road vehicles.

The section maintains close cooperation with key interest groups and authorities, including ministries, Traficom, Customs, forest authorities, Statistics Finland, the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority, the Finnish Road Safety Council, retailers, and the media. Legislative projects, industry working groups, and joint forums support constructive dialogue and effective advocacy.

In addition to interest representation, the section produces consumer information that promotes informed purchasing decisions and encourages safe and environmentally responsible vehicle use. The section also publishes vehicle registration statistics in cooperation with Statistics Finland and shares timely insights with its members.

The Motorcycles and Off-road Vehicles section serves as the most important platform for industry collaboration, knowledge sharing, and representation of interests within its field.

The Chairman of the section is Ari-Pekka Vanhala from Sumeko Oy and Lauri Leskinen is the General Secretary of the section.
