TIC Forum
TIC Forum brings together companies and experts in the testing, inspection and certification sector. The division serves as the sector’s shared platform for discussion, cooperation and advocacy in a changing operating environment.
TIC Forum promotes a common view within the sector, supports dialogue with stakeholders and highlights the importance of the TIC sector to business and industry. At the same time, it provides its members with a channel for monitoring developments in regulation, markets and the operating environment, as well as for forming common positions.

What does TIC do and why does it matter?
The TIC sector verifies products, processes and operating models in situations where safety, compliance and trust are essential prerequisites for business. Independent testing, inspection and certification support risk management and market access both in Finland and internationally.
The work of TIC companies is reflected in practice in:

- demonstrating compliance
- strengthening responsibility and trust

A growing and evolving sector
The TIC sector is growing as regulation increases, responsibility requirements become more demanding, and risk management gains importance. Market expectations for transparency and verifiability have also risen. The sector is not a separate support function, but increasingly forms part of customers’ business operations and strategic decision-making.
Many testing, inspection and certification tasks that were previously perceived as public authority functions have shifted into company-based expert services. Business-driven TIC activities bring flexibility and market orientation, while also supporting innovation and the adoption of new solutions. As a result of this change, the sector’s shared dialogue with authorities, legislators and the business community is becoming increasingly important.
An international sector, international requirements
The TIC sector is international by nature. Standards and certification practices are developed globally, and Finnish companies operate as part of international value chains. This requires compatible practices, active monitoring and the ability to highlight Finnish expertise and perspectives.
TIC Forum serves as a natural interface between the domestic and international operating environments.
A shared platform for advocacy
TIC Forum promotes dialogue between companies in the sector, public authorities and other stakeholders, and supports the formation of common positions. The division’s aim is to strengthen awareness of the TIC sector, highlight its importance to business and industry, and support networking and information exchange among its members.
